CTZNS was the young adults ministry at Harvest Orange County, focused on serving the college and career demographic through weekly Friday gatherings, Bible study, small-group interaction, and off-campus outreach events. The ministry aimed to foster a space where young adults could grow in their faith and build meaningful community.
Problem
Although CTZNS had an existing aesthetic and clear mission, its visual identity wasn’t fully connecting with its intended audience or effectively supporting its communication efforts. The branding lacked cohesion and impact across platforms, making it challenging to present announcements, events, and ministry highlights in a way that felt modern, engaging, and true to the ministry’s purpose.
Solution
Working together, my co-designer Melanie Northam and I refreshed the CTZNS brand to better reflect its mission—captured in the tagline “Pursuing Christ and cultivating community.” We maintained the recognizable black-and-white palette while introducing a yellow-gold accent, subtle textures, and a cross pattern to bring clarity and consistency to the visual language. Our goal was to create a cleaner, more modern aesthetic that would elevate announcements, highlight recaps, and strengthen the ministry’s presence across social media.
